Register of failed bone healing after fractures
Tuebingen Register of Union Failure After Fractures of the Upper and Lower Extremities

What this trial studies
The Tuebingen Register of Union Failure After Fractures collects clinical data from patients experiencing delayed or non-union of long bone fractures who require revision surgery. This observational study aims to identify risk factors associated with non-union by analyzing data from over 800 cases, including patient comorbidities, medication, and radiographic status. Patients are followed until they achieve final bone healing or complete treatment, allowing for a comprehensive understanding of factors influencing bone healing outcomes.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates are adults over 18 years old with long bone non-union requiring surgical intervention.
Not a fit: Patients under 18 years old or those with non-surgical interventions for non-union will not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this study could lead to improved strategies for preventing non-union in fracture patients, enhancing recovery and reducing complications.
How similar studies have performed: While previous studies have explored risk factors for bone healing, this register approach is novel and aims to gather a larger dataset for more comprehensive analysis.
