What this trial studies
This study investigates the exposure of farmworkers in Imperial County to heat and chemicals while working in the fields and at home. Participants will wear a special belt to measure heat exposure and have temperature monitors placed in their homes. Additionally, urine samples will be collected to assess hydration levels, along with other health markers through simple tests. The study also involves measuring chemical exposure using wristbands and home dust samples, with analysis conducted at San Diego State University.
Who should consider this trial

Not a fit: Patients who do not work in agriculture or are not residing in Imperial County may not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this study could lead to improved health and safety measures for farmworkers, reducing the risks associated with heat stress and chemical exposure.
How similar studies have performed: While similar studies have explored occupational health risks, this specific approach to measuring heat and chemical exposure in farmworkers is relatively novel.
