Reconstruction of knee ligaments to treat instability
Medial Collateral Ligament Reconstruction With Anteromedial Reinforcement for Medial and Anteromedial Rotatory Knee Instability
This study is testing a new surgery that combines two knee ligament repairs to see if it helps people with knee instability from sports injuries feel better and move more easily.

What this trial studies
This study evaluates the outcomes of a surgical technique that combines quadriceps tendon-bone anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction (ACLR) with medial collateral ligament reconstruction (MCLR) and anteromedial reinforcement. The focus is on patients suffering from medial and anteromedial rotatory knee instability, often resulting from sports injuries. The effectiveness of this combined approach will be assessed using standardized outcome measures, including the IKDC and KOOS questionnaires, to determine improvements in knee function and stability.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates are individuals with symptomatic medial and anteromedial rotatory instability following an MCL and ACL injury.
Not a fit: Patients with active knee inflammation, revision cases, or significant cartilage damage may not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this approach could significantly improve knee stability and function for patients with specific ligament injuries.
How similar studies have performed: While similar surgical techniques have been explored, this specific combined approach is relatively novel and has not been extensively tested in prior studies.
