What this trial studies

This study investigates the effectiveness of hypofractionated intensity-modulated whole pelvic radiation therapy in women with stage III endometrial cancer who have undergone curative surgery. The focus is on determining whether this treatment approach can achieve non-inferior disease-free survival compared to traditional methods. Participants will receive a specific radiation dose over a set number of fractions following their surgery. The study aims to provide insights into optimizing postoperative care for this patient population.

Who should consider this trial

Good fit: Ideal candidates are women with histologically confirmed endometrioid type endometrial cancer who have completed surgery and are at FIGO stage III.

Not a fit: Patients with distant metastasis or those who have had previous pelvic radiotherapy will not benefit from this study.

Why it matters

Potential benefit: If successful, this approach could improve disease-free survival rates for women with stage III endometrial cancer after surgery.

How similar studies have performed: Other studies have shown promise with hypofractionated radiation therapy in various cancers, suggesting potential for success in this approach for endometrial cancer.
