What this trial studies
This project aims to develop a program specifically designed for Latino men who have sex with men, focusing on facilitating access to pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP), HIV testing, and behavioral health services. The initiative will involve collaboration with community partners to pilot test the program's effectiveness. Participants will be engaged through peer ambassador stories and standard community outreach efforts to enhance awareness and uptake of these critical health services.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates for this program are Latino men who identify as sexual minorities, are 18 years or older, and reside in the greater Miami area.
Not a fit: Patients who are not Latino, do not identify as sexual minorities, or are currently receiving adequate HIV prevention and behavioral health services may not benefit from this program.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this program could significantly improve access to HIV prevention and mental health services for Latino men who have sex with men.
How similar studies have performed: Other studies targeting similar populations and utilizing community-based approaches have shown promise in improving health outcomes, suggesting this approach could be effective.
