What this trial studies
This program evaluates the effectiveness of education-only versus navigation interventions aimed at improving COVID-19 testing and vaccination rates among individuals with systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE). Participants will receive tailored support to enhance their understanding and access to COVID-19 resources. The study focuses on individuals aged 18 and older who are living with SLE and reside in Alabama or Louisiana. The interventions aim to address barriers faced by this population in accessing critical health services during the pandemic.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates for this program are adults aged 18 and older living with systemic lupus erythematosus who can communicate in English and reside in Alabama or Louisiana.
Not a fit: Patients who do not have systemic lupus erythematosus or those who are not located in Alabama or Louisiana may not benefit from this program.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this program could significantly improve COVID-19 vaccination and testing rates among lupus patients, enhancing their overall health outcomes.
How similar studies have performed: While this specific approach is novel, similar educational interventions have shown promise in improving health outcomes in other chronic conditions.
