Prognosis of patients with upper tract urothelial carcinoma receiving kidney-sparing therapy
A Multicenter, Prospective, Observational Clinical Study to Evaluate the Prognosis of Patients With Upper Tract Urothelial Carcinoma Receiving Kidney-sparing Therapy

What this trial studies
This observational study focuses on patients diagnosed with upper tract urothelial carcinoma (UTUC) who are eligible for kidney-sparing therapy. It aims to evaluate the prognosis of these patients while avoiding the complications associated with radical nephroureterectomy, which can lead to impaired renal function. Participants will be monitored over time to assess the effectiveness of kidney-sparing approaches in managing their condition. The study includes patients who have histopathologically confirmed UTUC and are willing to attend follow-up visits.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates for this study are adults aged 18 to 90 with histopathologically confirmed upper tract urothelial carcinoma who refuse radical nephroureterectomy or are eligible for kidney-sparing surgery.
Not a fit: Patients who are unable to undergo kidney-sparing surgery or have a life expectancy of less than six months may not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this study could provide insights into effective kidney-sparing treatments for patients with upper tract urothelial carcinoma, potentially improving their quality of life and preserving renal function.
How similar studies have performed: Other studies have shown promising results with kidney-sparing therapies in similar patient populations, indicating that this approach is gaining traction in the management of UTUC.
