What this trial studies
Participants are invited to use a free online mental hygiene toolkit with brief outlines and instructional videos and to practice one or more recommended activities for about 10 minutes a day throughout March, which they may split into shorter sessions as needed. The approach emphasizes flexibility and a social equity lens so anyone can tailor practices to their schedule and needs. Outcomes are measured using pre- and post-program surveys, building on promising survey signals from 2022 and 2023. People who previously took part in the challenge are excluded from the comparison group to reduce contamination.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates are English-speaking adults (18+) willing and able to try roughly 10 minutes of mental hygiene activities each day in March and access the online toolkit.
Not a fit: People under 18, those who cannot access the toolkit or commit to daily practice, or those needing specialized psychiatric care may not receive benefit from this program.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this could offer an easy, low-cost daily routine that many adults can use to support and improve mental wellbeing.
How similar studies have performed: Preliminary program evaluations from 2022 and 2023 produced a promising survey signal, though the formal mental hygiene framework remains a relatively novel approach.
