What this trial studies
This study evaluates the feasibility and implementation of a program called 'Braining', where psychiatric staff exercise alongside patients to promote regular physical activity. The program includes high-performance group training sessions and motivational support, aiming to improve both staff health and patient outcomes. Over six months, staff will receive training and support, and their experiences will be assessed through questionnaires and focus group interviews. The study will also measure the impact of this intervention on staff's physical activity levels and overall health.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates for this study are psychiatric staff members working in the participating units who are committed to improving their health and patient outcomes.
Not a fit: Patients with medical conditions that contraindicate physical activity or those on long-term sick leave may not benefit from this program.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this program could enhance the physical health and well-being of psychiatric staff, potentially leading to better patient care.
How similar studies have performed: While the specific 'Braining' approach is novel, similar interventions combining physical exercise with psychiatric care have shown positive outcomes in other studies.
