What this trial studies
This study aims to develop and evaluate a culturally adapted personalized feedback intervention (PFI) for Latinx individuals who experience hazardous drinking and anxiety. The research will first gather qualitative and quantitative feedback from focus groups to refine the intervention's content and assess its acceptability and feasibility. Following this, participants will be randomly assigned to receive either the refined PFI or a control version, with data collected at baseline, post-treatment, and during follow-ups to measure effectiveness.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates are Latinx or Hispanic individuals aged 21 to 75 who are fluent in Spanish and meet criteria for hazardous drinking and clinical anxiety.
Not a fit: Patients currently engaged in alcohol or substance use programs or psychotherapy for anxiety may not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this intervention could help Latinx individuals reduce hazardous drinking and improve their anxiety management.
How similar studies have performed: Other studies have shown promise in using culturally adapted interventions for substance use and mental health, suggesting potential success for this approach.
