What this trial studies

This interventional project enrolls Turkish-speaking parents aged 18–49 who have a child aged 11–18 and whose child has not yet received the HPV vaccine. Participants will receive structured education about HPV transmission, cancer risks, and the benefits and safety of vaccination, with outcomes measured before and after the session. The intervention is delivered at KTO Karatay University in Konya, Turkey, and excludes parents with hearing or speech impairments or those whose children are already vaccinated. The study aims to change parental knowledge and vaccination intent, and may track subsequent vaccine uptake.

Who should consider this trial

Good fit: Ideal candidates are Turkish-literate parents aged 18–49 with an unvaccinated child aged 11–18 who can attend the session and consent to participate.

Not a fit: Parents whose children have already received the HPV vaccine, who cannot read Turkish, or who cannot attend in Konya are unlikely to benefit from this program.

Why it matters

Potential benefit: If successful, the education could raise parental knowledge and acceptance of HPV vaccination and increase vaccine uptake among adolescents.

How similar studies have performed: Previous education interventions have often increased parental knowledge and improved HPV vaccine acceptance and uptake in comparable settings.
