What this trial studies

This study aims to compare the effectiveness of ozone therapy and Extracorporeal Shock Wave Therapy (ESWT) in patients with Carpal Tunnel Syndrome (CTS) who are also receiving splinting and exercise. Participants will be divided into two groups: one receiving ozone therapy and the other receiving ESWT, both in addition to standard treatments. The study will assess outcomes using ultrasonographic examinations of the median nerve and grip strength measurements. The goal is to determine if ozone therapy provides superior benefits compared to ESWT.

Who should consider this trial

Good fit: Ideal candidates are adults aged 18-65 diagnosed with mild to moderate Carpal Tunnel Syndrome for at least three months.

Not a fit: Patients with cervical disc herniation, previous hand or neck surgeries, or inflammatory rheumatic diseases may not benefit from this study.

Why it matters

Potential benefit: If successful, this study could offer a new, effective treatment option for patients suffering from Carpal Tunnel Syndrome.

How similar studies have performed: While the effectiveness of ESWT is established, studies specifically evaluating ozone therapy for CTS are limited, making this approach relatively novel.
