What this trial studies

This clinical trial evaluates the effectiveness of a prescribed sub-symptomatic adaptable exercise treatment (SAET) for active duty service members with mild traumatic brain injury (mTBI) and persistent cognitive complaints. Participants will be randomly assigned to receive either SAET or an active stretching control group (SCG) to assess the reduction of neurobehavioral symptoms and improvements in cognitive performance and physiological adaptation. The study aims to personalize the exercise treatment to meet the specific needs of service members while being adaptable to various clinical settings.

Who should consider this trial

Good fit: Ideal candidates are active duty service members aged 18 to 55 with a history of at least one mTBI and ongoing symptoms.

Not a fit: Patients who have sustained a TBI of any severity within the last month or have a history of severe neurological conditions may not benefit from this study.

Why it matters

Potential benefit: If successful, this treatment could significantly improve recovery outcomes for military personnel suffering from mild traumatic brain injuries.

How similar studies have performed: Other studies have shown promising results with similar exercise-based interventions for mTBI, suggesting potential for success in this approach.
