What this trial studies

This interventional study compares a web-based, self-instructional training program (SEED) to a set of comparison educational materials (Kit for Kids) to see how each affects teachers' skills and views about inclusive education. Public kindergarten and elementary teachers with at least a Level 2 teaching certificate will take part and provide informed consent; teachers who majored in special education are excluded. Outcomes include changes in teachers' knowledge about autism and developmental delays, attitudes toward inclusion, and teaching self-efficacy measured before and after the intervention. The study is run through Ewha Womans University in Seoul and uses the online SEED curriculum delivered to participating teachers.

Who should consider this trial

Good fit: Ideal candidates are public kindergarten or elementary teachers who hold at least a Level 2 teaching certificate and are willing to complete an online training program and questionnaires.

Not a fit: Teachers who have majored in special education are excluded and may not benefit from this general teacher-training program.

Why it matters

Potential benefit: If successful, participating teachers may gain knowledge and confidence to provide better classroom supports, which could improve learning and inclusion for autistic children and those with developmental delays.

How similar studies have performed: Prior studies of teacher training, including some online formats, have shown improvements in teacher knowledge and self-efficacy, though fully self-guided web-only programs have been less extensively tested.
