What this trial studies
This trial evaluates the effectiveness of Internet-based Mindfulness-based Training (iMBT) for individuals with clinical depression. Participants will be randomly assigned to either the iMBT group or a usual care control group, with the primary goal of assessing changes in depressive symptoms and mindfulness facets. The study aims to determine how improvements in mindfulness relate to overall mental well-being and reductions in depressive symptoms over time. The intervention is designed to enhance accessibility to mental health care through online platforms.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates are adults aged 18 and older who have access to the internet and meet the criteria for clinical depression.
Not a fit: Patients with severe mental health conditions such as psychosis, bipolar disorder, or those experiencing frequent suicidal ideation may not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this approach could provide a scalable and accessible treatment option for individuals suffering from depression.
How similar studies have performed: Previous studies have shown that Internet-based interventions for depression can be effective, suggesting that this approach has potential for success.
