What this trial studies
The Family Check-Up Online is a digital health intervention aimed at enhancing child mental health through family-centered approaches. This program is based on over 25 years of research and seeks to improve child behavior and mental health outcomes, including issues like depression and conduct problems. The study will evaluate the feasibility and acceptability of implementing this intervention in schools, comparing both coached and uncoached delivery methods. By engaging school providers and parents, the research aims to identify effective strategies for reaching at-risk students and delivering support.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates include caregivers of children aged 11 to 14 who are enrolled in participating schools and identified as needing additional support.
Not a fit: Families already involved in another study from the University of Oregon's Prevention Science Institute may not benefit from this intervention.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this intervention could significantly improve mental health outcomes for children and reduce parenting stress.
How similar studies have performed: Previous studies have shown promise for similar family-centered interventions in school settings, indicating potential for success with this approach.
