What this trial studies

Adults newly diagnosed with cancer at Hôpital Européen Marseille are offered structured onco-sexology support integrated into their oncology care. The intervention consists of scheduled consultations with trained onco-sexologists addressing sexual health, intimacy, and related counseling alongside standard cancer treatments. Patient-reported outcomes such as overall quality of life and sexual function will be collected over time using validated questionnaires and compared with usual care. The trial includes both curative and palliative patients who provide informed written consent.

Who should consider this trial

Good fit: Adults (≥18) newly diagnosed with any cancer, including those receiving palliative care, who can give informed written consent and attend consultations at the Marseille site.

Not a fit: Pregnant or breastfeeding people, individuals deprived of liberty, those under legal protection, or anyone unable to give informed consent are excluded and will not participate or receive benefit from this program.

Why it matters

Potential benefit: If successful, onco-sexology support could improve intimate relationships and overall quality of life for people during and after cancer treatment.

How similar studies have performed: Some smaller programs and pilot studies of sexual health counseling in oncology report improvements in sexual function and quality of life, but randomized evidence is limited and the approach remains underused.
