What this trial studies

This study evaluates the impact of occupational therapy-based parent coaching on feeding issues in children who were born prematurely. It involves 46 mothers of preterm children aged 3-6 years, who will be randomly assigned to either an intervention or control group. The mothers will complete various assessments regarding their child's feeding behaviors and their own parenting strategies through online forms. The intervention aims to improve the feeding dynamics between mothers and their children by addressing the biopsychosocial factors influencing feeding problems.

Who should consider this trial

Good fit: Ideal candidates are mothers of children aged 3-6 years who were born prematurely and report feeding problems.

Not a fit: Patients whose children have food allergies, disabilities, or are receiving other therapies that affect feeding may not benefit from this study.

Why it matters

Potential benefit: If successful, this intervention could significantly improve feeding behaviors and mother-child relationships in children born prematurely.

How similar studies have performed: While there is limited information on similar studies, the approach of using parent coaching in occupational therapy is gaining traction and shows promise in related fields.
