What this trial studies
This observational study focuses on the prognosis of patients diagnosed with acute kidney injury (AKI) in hospitals across China. It aims to gather data on the outcomes of these patients, particularly regarding the risk of developing chronic kidney disease and the associated mortality rates. By adhering to the KDIGO criteria for AKI diagnosis, the study will analyze the clinical characteristics and progression of AKI in a real-world setting. The findings could provide valuable insights into the management and treatment of AKI in hospitalized patients.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates for this study are hospitalized patients who have been clinically diagnosed with acute kidney injury.
Not a fit: Patients who have undergone nephrectomy, kidney transplantation, or have end-stage kidney disease will not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this study could enhance understanding of AKI prognosis and improve patient management strategies, potentially reducing long-term complications.
How similar studies have performed: Other studies have shown success in understanding AKI prognosis, but this specific observational approach in China may provide novel insights.
