What this trial studies
This study focuses on elderly female patients aged 65 and older who have early-stage breast cancer. It aims to establish a prognostic model that takes into account the patients' pathological staging, molecular typing, and any concomitant diseases. By observing these factors, the study seeks to provide personalized treatment plans that can enhance survival and quality of life for this demographic. The research is conducted at Peking Union Medical College Hospital, where eligible patients will be monitored post-surgery.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates for this study are female patients aged 65 and older with early-stage breast cancer who have undergone surgery at Peking Union Medical College Hospital.
Not a fit: Patients with metastatic or recurrent breast cancer, or those lacking pathological information, will not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this study could lead to improved personalized treatment options and better outcomes for elderly breast cancer patients.
How similar studies have performed: While studies on breast cancer have often excluded elderly patients, this approach is novel in its focus on creating a specific prognostic model for this age group.
