What this trial studies

This longitudinal observational cohort study aims to investigate the factors influencing the occurrence and long-term survival of patients diagnosed with primary liver cancer. It collects detailed clinical information, including AJCC/TNM stage, MELD score, Child-Pugh score, and BCLC stage, from professional doctors. Patients will be followed up every two years after therapy to assess clinical outcomes such as death, recurrence, and metastasis.

Who should consider this trial

Good fit: Ideal candidates for this study are adults aged 18-80 years who have recently been diagnosed with primary liver cancer and have not yet received any treatment.

Not a fit: Patients who have multiple primary tumors or refuse to participate in the study may not receive any benefit from this research.

Why it matters

Potential benefit: If successful, this study could provide valuable insights into the factors affecting survival and recurrence in primary liver cancer patients, potentially leading to improved management strategies.

How similar studies have performed: While observational studies on cancer prognosis are common, this specific cohort study focuses on primary liver cancer in South China, which may provide novel insights into this particular population.
