Observational study on predicting treatment response in diffuse large B-cell lymphoma
Supervised Machine Learning for the Prediction of Primary Refractory Status in Patients With Diffuse Large Cell B Lymphoma in a Monocentric Cohort at the Grand Hôpital de Charleroi
This study is trying to see if using machine learning can help doctors predict which patients with diffuse large B-cell lymphoma might not respond to treatment, so they can provide better care.

What this trial studies
This study focuses on patients diagnosed with diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (DLBCL) to understand the factors contributing to primary refractory disease, which affects 30-40% of patients. By utilizing machine learning algorithms, the study aims to predict the likelihood of patients becoming refractory to treatment based on their medical records and various risk factors. The goal is to enable early intervention strategies tailored to individual patient needs, potentially improving treatment outcomes. The study will analyze data from patients treated at the Grand Hôpital de Charleroi, leveraging advanced predictive modeling techniques.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates are adults diagnosed with diffuse large-cell B lymphoma who are being treated for the first time at the Grand Hôpital de Charleroi.
Not a fit: Patients under 18 years old will not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this study could lead to more personalized treatment strategies for patients with DLBCL, improving their chances of recovery.
How similar studies have performed: Previous studies have shown promise in using machine learning for predicting treatment outcomes in similar contexts, indicating a potential for success in this approach.
