Non-invasive methods for diagnosing and monitoring brain tumors
Non-invasive Brain Tumor Diagnosis Through Analysis of Proximal Fluids, Circulating Tumor Cells, and Biomolecules

What this trial studies
This observational study focuses on patients with glioblastoma (GBM) and aims to conduct repeated assessments before and three months after surgery. It will analyze circulating tumor cells and the transcriptomic profiles of extracellular vesicles (EVs) in the blood to evaluate their prognostic significance. Additionally, the study will investigate proteomic profiles in blood and ocular secretions from various patient groups to identify novel protein biomarkers. An innovative approach will also be employed to monitor GBM patients by detecting specific nucleic acid fragments in urine.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates for this study are adult patients diagnosed with glioblastoma.
Not a fit: Patients with other types of cancer or inflammatory diseases may not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this study could lead to improved methods for diagnosing and monitoring brain tumors, enhancing treatment efficacy and patient outcomes.
How similar studies have performed: While this approach is innovative, similar studies have shown promise in using non-invasive biomarkers for cancer monitoring.
