Nationwide evaluation of acute kidney injury in hospitalized patients in China
China Collaborative Study on Epidemiology of Acute Kidney Injury
This study looks at how common acute kidney injury is in hospitalized patients in China and what factors might increase the risk of developing it.

What this trial studies
This observational study aims to assess the burden of acute kidney injury (AKI) among hospitalized patients in China from 2011 to 2016. By analyzing changes in serum creatinine levels based on the 2012 Kidney Disease Improving Global Outcomes (KDIGO) criteria, the study seeks to identify the prevalence and risk factors associated with AKI. The data will be collected from a nationwide cohort of patients, providing valuable insights into the epidemiology of this condition in the Chinese healthcare context.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates for this study are hospitalized patients diagnosed with acute kidney injury based on serum creatinine changes.
Not a fit: Patients with end-stage kidney disease or those who have undergone nephrectomy or kidney transplantation will not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this study could enhance understanding of acute kidney injury, leading to improved prevention and management strategies for patients.
How similar studies have performed: While similar studies have been conducted globally, this specific nationwide evaluation in China is novel and aims to fill a significant gap in local epidemiological data.
