What this trial studies
This pilot randomized controlled trial evaluates the feasibility and acceptability of a dyadic video-assisted gamified music breathing therapy aimed at enhancing resilience in children with ADHD and their caregivers. The intervention focuses on improving children's emotional and behavioral symptoms while reducing parenting stress and psychological distress among parents. Participants will be recruited from the Chinese University of Hong Kong, and the study will assess recruitment rates, retention, and attendance as part of its methodology.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates include children aged 7 to 12 with a clinically documented ADHD diagnosis and their primary caregivers who can communicate in Chinese.
Not a fit: Patients with other disabling diseases or those who have engaged in music interventions in the past six months may not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this intervention could significantly improve the emotional well-being and resilience of children with ADHD and their caregivers.
How similar studies have performed: While music breathing therapy has shown benefits in other populations, this specific application for ADHD in children and their caregivers is relatively novel.
