Monitoring heart activity with a smart textile chest band
Non-Invasive Ambulatory Monitoring of Electrocardiogram (ECG) and Arrhythmia Detection Using Textile Electrodes
NA · Myant Medical Corp. · NCT06870175

What this trial studies
This clinical evaluation focuses on the Skiin chest band, a smart garment equipped with electronic textile electrodes designed to record electrocardiogram (ECG) signals from the body. Participants will wear the Skiin chest band for 14 days to monitor their heart activity while also using a smartphone application to log any symptoms they experience. The data collected will contribute to the development of new algorithms and tools for detecting and predicting cardiac arrhythmias. This innovative approach aims to enhance ambulatory ECG monitoring through wearable technology.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates for this study are individuals referred for a 14-day ambulatory ECG monitoring due to suspected cardiac arrhythmias.
Not a fit: Patients under 18, pregnant women, or those with cardiovascular implants will not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this could provide patients with a more convenient and effective way to monitor their heart health and detect arrhythmias.
How similar studies have performed: Other studies have shown promise in using wearable technology for cardiac monitoring, indicating a potential for success in this novel approach.
