What this trial studies
The Mobile Apps for Preschool Parents (MAPP) Study evaluates the effectiveness of two mobile applications designed for parents of preschool-aged children. One app focuses on nutrition and wellness, while the other encourages reading to children. This study aims to address childhood obesity by promoting guided goal-setting for parents, particularly targeting low-income families at risk for obesity. By leveraging technology, the study seeks to provide early interventions that can lead to healthier lifestyle choices for children.

Good fit: Ideal candidates for this study are parents or guardians aged 18 and older with children aged 2-5 years who live in the United States and receive services from partner community organizations.
Not a fit: Patients who do not own a mobile device or lack internet access will not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this study could empower parents to adopt healthier habits for their preschool children, potentially reducing the risk of childhood obesity.
