What this trial studies
This study evaluates the efficacy and cost-effectiveness of a mobile app-based intervention called CANQUIT, designed for regular cannabis users aged 18-30. Participants will be randomly assigned to either an experimental group receiving a cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT)-based intervention or a control group using a self-help guide. The intervention lasts four weeks and includes psychoeducation, emotion regulation training, and relapse prevention strategies. The study aims to assess both short-term and long-term outcomes, as well as the economic impact of the intervention in Spain.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates for this study are young adults aged 18-30 who have used cannabis at least once in the past month.
Not a fit: Patients who do not use cannabis or are outside the age range of 18-30 may not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this intervention could provide a cost-effective strategy for young adults to reduce or quit cannabis use, improving their overall health and well-being.
How similar studies have performed: Other studies have shown success with digital interventions for substance use, indicating potential for this approach.
