What this trial studies
This study investigates the impact of a mindfulness intervention program on adolescents aged 17-19 who are experiencing internet addiction. The program aims to reduce addictive behaviors associated with excessive internet use by promoting mindfulness practices. Participants will be recruited from the Turkish nursing department at Near East University in Nicosia, Lefkoşa. The study focuses on understanding how mindfulness can help manage and potentially alleviate symptoms of internet addiction in this age group.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates for this study are adolescents aged 17-19 who are studying in a Turkish nursing department and are willing to participate voluntarily.
Not a fit: Patients who have previously participated in a mindfulness intervention program for internet addiction may not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this intervention could provide adolescents with effective tools to manage their internet usage and improve their overall mental health.
How similar studies have performed: While mindfulness interventions have shown promise in various behavioral health contexts, this specific approach to internet addiction in adolescents is relatively novel and less tested.
