What this trial studies

This study aims to evaluate the accuracy of length and depth estimations made by both laypersons and healthcare providers in the context of cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR). A total of 200 participants, consisting of 100 laypersons without recent CPR training and 100 active healthcare providers, will be recruited. Participants will be tasked with drawing a 5cm line and estimating a 5cm depth to assess their estimation skills. The hypothesis is that both groups will struggle with these estimations, highlighting potential gaps in training and awareness.

Who should consider this trial

Good fit: Ideal candidates include adult laypersons without recent CPR training and active healthcare providers such as doctors, nurses, and emergency medical technicians.

Not a fit: Patients with recent CPR training or inactive healthcare providers may not benefit from this study.

Why it matters

Potential benefit: If successful, this study could improve training methods for CPR by identifying common estimation errors among laypersons and healthcare providers.

How similar studies have performed: While studies on CPR training effectiveness exist, this specific focus on estimation accuracy is relatively novel and has not been extensively tested.
