Mapping the genetic makeup of ovarian cancer at a single cell level

Transcriptional Map of Ovarian Cancer at the Single Cell Level

Observational University Hospital, Strasbourg, France · NCT05030805

What this trial studies

This observational study aims to create a detailed transcriptional map of ovarian cancer by analyzing fresh tumor samples from women diagnosed with the disease. After determining the tumor stage, samples will undergo single cell preparation and sequencing to identify genetic variations and neoantigens. The study will utilize advanced technologies such as the Chromium Controller for library preparation and the NextSeq550 system for sequencing, followed by bioinformatics analysis to explore the transcriptome of different cell populations. The findings may help in understanding cancer heterogeneity and identifying new therapeutic targets.

Who should consider this trial

Good fit: Ideal candidates for this study are women aged 18 and older with a confirmed diagnosis of ovarian cancer who have undergone surgery at the Strasbourg University Hospital.

Not a fit: Patients with chronic inflammatory diseases, a history of immunotherapy treatment, or those unable to provide informed consent may not benefit from this study.

Why it matters

Potential benefit: If successful, this study could lead to the development of more effective therapies for ovarian cancer by uncovering new treatment targets.

How similar studies have performed: While the approach of mapping cancer at the single cell level is gaining traction, this specific study's methodology is relatively novel and untested in the context of ovarian cancer.
