What this trial studies
This study focuses on controlling blood glucose levels in hospitalized patients with type 2 diabetes experiencing hyperglycemia at Taichung Veterans General Hospital. Patients will be enrolled by a glucose management team and treated using an insulin protocol guided by continuous glucose monitoring systems. The study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of this approach in managing inpatient hyperglycemia.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates are hospitalized patients with type 2 diabetes and elevated blood glucose levels.
Not a fit: Patients who are uncooperative with glucose monitoring, refuse insulin treatment, or are pregnant may not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this study could lead to improved blood glucose control for hospitalized patients with diabetes, reducing complications and enhancing recovery.
How similar studies have performed: Other studies have shown success in managing inpatient hyperglycemia using similar insulin protocols and glucose monitoring systems.
