What this trial studies
This observational study aims to assess the long-term outcomes of patients with psoriasis and psoriatic arthritis undergoing systemic treatments, including both conventional therapies and biologics. Patients will be enrolled at the initiation of their first treatment and will be followed for up to 10 years, allowing for comprehensive data collection on treatment effectiveness, safety, and quality of life. The study will document various treatment regimens and their impacts on patient health over time, addressing gaps in knowledge regarding long-term management of these conditions.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates include adults aged 18 and older with a confirmed diagnosis of plaque-type psoriasis or psoriatic arthritis who are starting a specific systemic treatment for the first time.
Not a fit: Patients who are currently participating in other clinical trials or who cannot provide informed consent may not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this study could provide valuable insights into the long-term effectiveness and safety of various psoriasis treatments, ultimately improving patient care.
How similar studies have performed: Other studies have shown success in evaluating long-term treatment outcomes for psoriasis, but this registry approach is particularly focused on real-world effectiveness and patient-reported outcomes.
