What this trial studies

This observational study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of long acting buprenorphine (LAB) formulations, such as Buvidal, for treating opioid use disorder (OUD) in France. It addresses the challenges associated with daily buprenorphine or methadone treatments, including compliance and misuse risks. By utilizing Patient Reported Outcome Measures (PROMs) and Ecological Momentary Assessment (EMA), the study will gather real-life data on patient experiences and treatment adherence over a six-month period. The goal is to better understand the dynamics of craving and treatment retention in a naturalistic setting.

Who should consider this trial

Good fit: Ideal candidates are adults over 18 who have been prescribed long acting buprenorphine and plan to initiate treatment soon.

Not a fit: Patients who are under guardianship or have difficulty understanding the French language may not benefit from this study.

Why it matters

Potential benefit: If successful, this study could improve treatment adherence and outcomes for patients with opioid use disorder.

How similar studies have performed: Previous studies have shown promising results for long acting buprenorphine, but this specific approach in the French healthcare context is novel.
