What this trial studies
This study evaluates the impact of listening to the Qur'an recital on the quality of life of patients with systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE). Participants will be divided into intervention and control groups, with the intervention group listening to Surah Ar-Rahman for 15 minutes twice daily over 40 days. Quality of life will be assessed before and after the intervention using the Lupus-QoL questionnaire. The study also considers potential confounding factors such as disease activity and comorbidities.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates are Muslim females aged 18 and older diagnosed with systemic lupus erythematosus who do not have auditory problems.
Not a fit: Patients who cannot read or write, or those using drugs that affect the central nervous system may not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this intervention could enhance the quality of life for patients suffering from systemic lupus erythematosus.
How similar studies have performed: While the approach of using religious recitals for health benefits is not widely tested, similar studies have shown positive effects of music and spiritual practices on quality of life.
