What this trial studies
This study investigates the effects of laughter yoga on perceived stress and quality of life in pregnant women diagnosed with gestational diabetes. It utilizes a non-pharmacological approach, combining laughter and breathing techniques to help participants manage stress and improve their overall well-being. Eligible participants must be 18 years or older, able to read Turkish, and have a diagnosis of gestational diabetes. The study aims to provide insights into how laughter yoga can serve as an alternative treatment during pregnancy.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates are pregnant women aged 18 and older who have been diagnosed with gestational diabetes and can communicate effectively.
Not a fit: Patients who are not diagnosed with gestational diabetes or have significant physical or mental health issues that hinder communication may not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this approach could enhance the mental well-being and quality of life for pregnant women dealing with gestational diabetes.
How similar studies have performed: While laughter yoga is a relatively novel approach in this context, similar interventions have shown promise in reducing stress and improving quality of life in other populations.
