What this trial studies

This observational study aims to explore the health and well-being of families affected by cancer, focusing on patients with breast, prostate, colorectal cancers, and hematologic neoplasms, along with their caregivers. It will assess factors such as quality of life, self-efficacy, depression, stress, and resilience throughout the cancer treatment and survivorship journey. By conducting surveys and interviews, the study seeks to identify vulnerable families and understand the support they need during this challenging time.

Who should consider this trial

Good fit: Ideal candidates include adults over 18 diagnosed with breast, prostate, colorectal cancer, or lymphoma, along with their designated caregivers.

Not a fit: Patients who cannot understand or provide informed consent, or who do not speak Danish, may not benefit from this study.

Why it matters

Potential benefit: If successful, this study could enhance the understanding of family dynamics in cancer care, leading to improved support systems for both patients and their families.

How similar studies have performed: While there is a growing recognition of the importance of family involvement in cancer care, this specific approach to studying family health in the context of cancer treatment is relatively novel.
