What this trial studies

This study aims to explore the relationship between various ultrasonographic indices and clinical parameters in patients diagnosed with carpal tunnel syndrome (CTS). It will assess how these ultrasound parameters correlate with patients' clinical complaints and with each other. The study will utilize non-invasive nerve ultrasound and nerve conduction studies to gather data on the median nerve's characteristics at the carpal tunnel entrance. By enhancing the understanding of ultrasound's role in diagnosing CTS, the study seeks to improve diagnostic accuracy and patient outcomes.

Who should consider this trial

Good fit: Ideal candidates for this study are individuals diagnosed with carpal tunnel syndrome based on clinical and electrodiagnostic findings.

Not a fit: Patients with concomitant conditions such as diabetes, systemic inflammatory diseases, or those who have undergone surgery for CTS may not benefit from this study.

Why it matters

Potential benefit: If successful, this study could lead to improved diagnostic methods for carpal tunnel syndrome, enhancing patient care.

How similar studies have performed: Previous studies have shown promising results in using ultrasound for diagnosing carpal tunnel syndrome, indicating that this approach has potential for success.
