What this trial studies

This observational study aims to assess the prevalence of temporomandibular joint dysfunction (TMD) among university students and identify potential contributing factors such as oral habits, food consumption frequency, and eating behaviors. By evaluating these relationships, the study seeks to provide insights that could inform the development of effective treatment programs for TMD. The research will involve participants from Karadeniz Technical University who meet specific eligibility criteria, including being able to read and write in Turkish.

Not a fit: Patients with local or systemic diseases affecting oral and jaw health or those who have had cervical region or TMJ surgeries may not benefit from this study.

Why it matters

Potential benefit: If successful, this study could lead to improved understanding and management of TMD in university students.
