What this trial studies

This study examines the relationship between frailty and the incidence of residual neuromuscular blockade in patients undergoing oncologic gynecological surgery. It aims to assess how frailty influences the metabolism of anesthetic agents and the prevalence of postoperative complications. By utilizing a train of four nerve stimulator, the research will gather data on frailty and its impact on surgical outcomes. The findings could provide insights into improving perioperative care for frail patients in gynecologic oncology.

Who should consider this trial

Good fit: Ideal candidates include adults aged 18 and older who are scheduled for elective gynecologic-oncology surgery.

Not a fit: Patients who are unable to communicate in Thai, have preexisting neuromuscular diseases, or have wrist conditions affecting nerve stimulation will not benefit from this study.

Why it matters

Potential benefit: If successful, this study could lead to improved management strategies for frail patients undergoing gynecologic surgery, potentially reducing postoperative complications and mortality.

How similar studies have performed: While this specific correlation has not been previously studied, related research has indicated significant associations between frailty and surgical outcomes in other contexts.
