What this trial studies

This observational study aims to explore the family history of cancer in patients diagnosed with Non-Small Cell Lung Cancer (NSCLC). It will collect data through a self-reported questionnaire focusing on family cancer history, types of tumors, age at diagnosis, and smoking habits among relatives. The study seeks to identify patterns of familial cancer history and potential clusters of risk factors to guide genetic counseling for NSCLC patients. Participants will include individuals with histologically confirmed NSCLC, regardless of age or smoking status.

Who should consider this trial

Good fit: Ideal candidates are adults aged 18 and older with a histopathological diagnosis of Non-Small Cell Lung Cancer.

Not a fit: Patients who do not have available family or personal cancer history data may not benefit from this study.

Why it matters

Potential benefit: If successful, this study could enhance understanding of inherited cancer risks and improve genetic counseling for patients with NSCLC.

How similar studies have performed: Previous studies have indicated a significant prevalence of genetic alterations linked to inherited cancer susceptibility in NSCLC, suggesting that this approach may yield valuable insights.
