What this trial studies
This observational study aims to explore the connection between dysfunctional breathing, exercise capacity, and balance in individuals diagnosed with arterial hypertension. It will utilize the Nijmegen Questionnaire to assess breathing patterns, alongside various tests to evaluate balance and functional exercise capacity. The study seeks to understand how dysfunctional breathing may affect physical performance in hypertensive patients, potentially leading to improved management strategies for this population.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates for this study are adults aged 18 to 70 who have been diagnosed with hypertension and have a Nijmegen Questionnaire score of 23 or above.
Not a fit: Patients who have experienced a medication change within the last month or have unstable metabolic diseases may not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this study could enhance the understanding of how breathing dysfunction impacts exercise and balance in hypertensive patients, leading to better treatment approaches.
How similar studies have performed: While this study addresses a specific relationship between dysfunctional breathing and hypertension, similar studies have shown promising results in understanding respiratory dysfunctions in various populations.
