What this trial studies
This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of the Sun-safe Habits Intervention and Education (SHINE) program in enhancing sun protection behaviors and reducing intentional tanning among high school students. Approximately 30 schools will be randomly assigned to either the SHINE intervention or standard education, with students receiving two in-class sessions and follow-up assessments at various intervals. The intervention includes personalized action plans and UV photos for students, while the control group receives basic skin cancer prevention education. The study will recruit students aged 11 to 21 years from participating schools in Utah.
