What this trial studies
This study investigates the effects of Internet-delivered Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (iACT) specifically designed for individuals suffering from endometriosis and chronic pain. Participants will engage in an active treatment program that includes educational components, value-based exposure, and behavior change exercises focusing on mindfulness, cognitive defusion, and acceptance. The intervention will be conducted on a secure online platform, with participants receiving support from a psychologist through scheduled phone calls and a messaging system. The study will assess the effectiveness of this approach through baseline and post-treatment evaluations, as well as follow-up assessments.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates for this study are individuals aged 18-65 with verified endometriosis who are able to participate actively in the rehabilitation process.
Not a fit: Patients with acute or severe psychiatric disorders or those actively abusing analgesic medications or substances may not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this therapy could provide patients with effective coping strategies and improved quality of life by addressing chronic pain and emotional distress associated with endometriosis.
How similar studies have performed: While this approach is relatively novel, similar studies using internet-based therapies for chronic pain have shown promising results.
