What this trial studies
This project aims to enhance knowledge and awareness of nutrition for ICU patients by conducting a one-day international cross-sectional audit. It involves collecting data through questionnaires that assess nutrition-related organizational information, patient medical status, treatment details, and nutrition practices in intensive care units. The data will be anonymized and entered into a database to facilitate benchmarking against national and international standards. Outcomes will be evaluated 60 days post-audit to assess patient status.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates for this audit are patients aged 6 and older who are admitted to an intensive care unit on the designated nutritionDay.
Not a fit: Patients who refuse to participate or are aged 5 and under will not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this initiative could lead to improved nutrition care practices in ICUs, ultimately enhancing patient outcomes.
How similar studies have performed: Other studies have shown success in improving ICU nutrition practices through similar audits, indicating the potential effectiveness of this approach.
