What this trial studies
This clinical trial focuses on providing a short and intensive treatment program for children and adolescents diagnosed with obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD). The program aims to address the complex and chronic nature of OCD, which can significantly impact the lives of young individuals. Participants will engage in a structured treatment approach over a week, designed to alleviate symptoms and improve overall functioning. The study targets a demographic of children and adolescents aged 8 to 18 years who are proficient in German and meet specific eligibility criteria.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates for this study are children and adolescents aged 8 to 18 years who have a diagnosis of obsessive-compulsive disorder and can participate fully in the treatment program.
Not a fit: Patients who are unable to commit to the full participation in the intensive treatment week may not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this treatment could significantly reduce OCD symptoms in young patients, leading to improved quality of life.
How similar studies have performed: While there is existing research on OCD treatments, this specific approach of short and intensive therapy for children and adolescents is relatively novel.
