What this trial studies
This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of combining functional muscle training with turning-based specific training to enhance turning ability and balance in patients recovering from stroke. It focuses on individuals with subacute and chronic strokes, utilizing a randomized control trial design to assess improvements in gait and quality of life. The intervention includes targeted exercises designed to address difficulties in turning, which is a common challenge faced by stroke survivors. The study will measure outcomes related to balance, turning ability, and overall quality of life improvements.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates for this study are adults aged 45-60 years and older who have experienced subacute or chronic strokes.
Not a fit: Patients with hemorrhagic strokes or other neurological conditions such as epilepsy, Alzheimer's, or Parkinson's disease may not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this approach could significantly enhance mobility and independence for post-stroke patients, improving their overall quality of life.
How similar studies have performed: Previous studies have shown promising results with task-specific training in stroke rehabilitation, suggesting that this approach may be effective.
