What this trial studies
This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of two group interventions designed for middle-school children diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). One intervention focuses on enhancing social skills, while the other targets organizational and planning skills. Participants will be randomly assigned to one of the two interventions to assess their impact on academic and social functioning. The study seeks to provide evidence-based strategies to support children with ASD in their educational and social environments.

Eligibility criteria

Inclusion Criteria: * Diagnosis of autism * No intellectual disability * Problems with organization, materials management, and planning and prioritization * Problems with social skills * Fully included in middle school * Stable medication and behavioral treatment regime Exclusion Criteria: * Home schooled * Severe co-occurring psychopathology (e.g., aggression, suicidal) * Non English-speaking
