What this trial studies

This clinical trial aims to enhance the non-invasive identification of epileptogenic networks in patients with drug-resistant epilepsy. It compares the accuracy of network identification using advanced MRI techniques against the gold standard of stereo-EEG. Participants, already selected for stereo-EEG, will undergo an additional MRI with various sequences to analyze the epileptogenic networks. The study will also evaluate the evolution of these networks after therapeutic surgery through follow-up MRIs.

Who should consider this trial

Good fit: Ideal candidates are patients suffering from drug-resistant epilepsy who have already been selected for stereo-EEG implantation.

Not a fit: Patients who are excluded from stereo-EEG or have contraindications for MRI will not benefit from this study.

Why it matters

Potential benefit: If successful, this study could lead to more accurate identification of epileptogenic networks, improving treatment outcomes for patients with drug-resistant epilepsy.

How similar studies have performed: Other studies have shown promise in using advanced imaging techniques for similar purposes, suggesting potential success for this approach.
