What this trial studies
This study assesses the effectiveness of e-health interventions in enhancing mental health help-seeking intentions and behaviors among breast cancer patients. Participants aged 18 to 65 will engage with digital tools designed to provide support and information, encouraging them to seek mental health services. The study will compare outcomes between those using e-health interventions and those receiving traditional care, measuring changes in mental health literacy, self-stigma, and help-seeking behaviors. Regular assessments will track the impact of these interventions over time.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates are breast cancer patients aged 18 to 65 who are currently undergoing treatment and can understand either Malay or English.
Not a fit: Patients with metastatic breast cancer to the brain, those diagnosed with mental illness, or those with a performance status of 3 and above may not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this approach could significantly improve mental health outcomes for breast cancer patients by increasing their willingness to seek support.
How similar studies have performed: Other studies have shown promise in using digital health interventions to improve mental health support, indicating potential success for this approach.
